In 1947, BMC started manufacturing pedal cars and toys with the initial thrust being a pedal car and tractor line. Especially popular was their unique ball bearing wheel and adjustable pedal design, which BMC capitalized on by marketing their vehivles "as the world's only toys with genuine knee auto-action that actually works." Other key features included the duo-seat, adjustable pedals, one-piece body construction and puncture proof tires.
