More readily than elsewhere, influences from art and design are embraced here; designers provocatively and subtly blur the boundaries between these disciplines. It is precisely for this reason that their creations are in high demand worldwide for the design of restaurants and shops, private residences and hotels, offices and museums, often proving to be trendsetters. The book showcases a selection of the latest designs realized between 2000 and 2009 in Italy and other countries, including the USA, France, Great Britain, Israel, and Dubai. Among the represented architects and designers are masters like Renzo Piano, Michele De Lucchi, and Giorgio Armani, as well as representatives of the younger generation.
