In this tale, Percy is alleged to have stolen Zeus lightning bolt, the ultimate weapon of mass destruction. Unless he proves his innocence, he knows there would be a war among the gods. He, Annabeth and Grover take on many adventures, and are exposed to all sorts of enemies, like Medusa, in their efforts to retrieve the weapon. After discovering the identity of the thief and his twisted motives, they strive to prevent the terrible war among the great gods. Percy Jackson And The Sea Of Monsters is the second in the collection. Thalia s tree, which protects the half-blood camp through its magical powers, is found to be poisoned and can only be saved by the Golden Fleece. Grover is stranded on the very island that bears the Golden Fleece and Percy sets out with his loyal companions to save him. As always, their task proves to be gargantuan since they are ambushed by rivals and monsters and Percy is almost killed. The third tale in the Percy Jackson series is Percy Jackson And The Titan s Curse, in which Percy departs on a mission to fight a manticore who takes Annabeth captive. Learning that Atlas has escaped, Percy and his friends quickly join forces, recapture him, and return him to the task of holding up the sky. This book of surprising revelations, as Percy discovers the parentage of some of his friends. In Percy Jackson And The Battle Of The Labyrinth, Percy discovers the labyrinth that would provide easy entry for Kronos s army into their camp. During their endeavor to deny Kronos success, Percy inadvertently causes Mount St. Helens to explode. They lurk around until Kronos returns and escape into the camp. Kronos and Luke mount an attack on the camp but they are repulsed. Thereafter Daedalus sacrifices himself, since his life is integral to the existence of the labyrinth.
